Evil Returns Next Spring...

Okay, I'm not the kind of guy who usually gets all hyped for a remake of a classic (my hype for Texas Chainsaw 3D doesn't count. It's a sequel, not a remake), but yeah, Evil Dead is getting its new look for the new generation, and the trailer makes it look good. So far.

But will the rest of the film catch up to its sneak peek? Guess I'll be seeing this spring. Though, the only thing I fear here is that they might not have the same cringing moments as that of Linda's heel getting stabbed with a pencil, nor will it have the same shock as a certain axe hacking...

P.S.

You think I should do a Evil Dead review? I know it's not a slasher, nor a thriller, but it got the makings of a usual teen kill-fest so...

  1. Don't know about taking camp and trying to turn it serious. Look what happened with the remakes of Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th. The trailer looks like a typical teen cabin-in-the-woods kill fest with bad acting and bad writing.

    1. typical teen-kill-fest, sounds like a sold movie for me! And I never actually saw the first evil dead as camp, for me it was a serious flick. Camp sank in when Evil Dead II came (a personal fave of mine), and of course, Army of Darkness.

  2. I'm completely sold on this film, but trailers can be deceiving. I know we've all become a bit jaded by the less than stellar remakes they've thrown at us, but what the hell--it's more fun to be excited about an upcoming movie than to be cool and detached.

    And yes, do a review.

And, since you asked, I'll see where I can squeeze a Golden title review for Evil Dead...
