Leeches has quite a low rating on IMDb, but I found it somewhat enjoyable (though, fair warning, it's been five+ years since I've seen it). It's also a movie meant for a gay audience, but since you seemed to like 2004's Hellbent (and I don't blame you - that was a well-done flick), it may not bother you too much.

That all said, I'd primarily count Leeches more in the monster-movie category, at least until near the ending. Still might be worth checking out, though.

- Michael M.Michael Mahoneyhttp://fight-evil.com/index.phpnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3238609231210526256.post-87967995500464682652018-12-07T11:38:15.475+08:002018-12-07T11:38:15.475+08:00The more I watch this, the more I'm actually e...The more I watch this, the more I'm actually enjoying this cheesy werewolf slasher!

There's quite a lot of slasher out there that used monsters for their killers, with the best example being Pumpkinhead (1988)! I actually have Backwoods Bloodbath in my "to watch" pile. I think it's about time I give it a whirl!

((Leeches (2003), eh?))Kaijinuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11481843593274086819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3238609231210526256.post-38347964069387343182018-12-07T08:37:55.286+08:002018-12-07T08:37:55.286+08:00I only first saw this one in October of this year,...I only first saw this one in October of this year, but was pretty happy with it. I actually liked the ending (thought it's a bit ridiculous), and I think I actually gave it a 7.5/10 or 8/10 (my review for this one isn't yet up).

Really, the idea of mixing a slasher flick with that of a monster (werewolf) movie was pretty interesting, and like you said, it's not really been done all that often (Leeches from 2003 and Backwoods Bloodbath from 2007 are the only other ones that come to mind).

I was sort of surprised I enjoyed this one as much as I did (certainly I liked it more than Demon Warrior, which I saw earlier the same month). Not a classic by any means, but definitely worth the time to watch.

And if I recall, there's a dream sequence in this one that was laugh-your-ass-off funny. Came out of nowhere, and I couldn't believe my eyes.

Another quality review. Hope this finds you well.

- Michael M.Michael Mahoneyhttp://fight-evil.com/index.phpnoreply@blogger.com
